Make it Yourself Mondays ~ Use that Embroidery Hoop!

September 17, 2012 § 2 Comments

I simply adore all things vintage. I think the idea of up-cycling is fabulous. Re-using things you already have is both practical and thrifty. But sometimes, it’s just as practical to buy a few supplies and make all of it yourself! The cost can be much cheaper than buying ready-made, especially if you take advantage of the clearance sales and coupons from your local craft stores. I often print out 40% off coupons online, and gradually purchase my supplies (most stores only allow 1 coupon per day. just pick up an item you need whenever you’re out running errands!). You don’t have to be in a hurry to purchase everything at once. The project can wait for a week or two, and you have the potential to be more than $20 the richer if you wait for great prices!

This week’s make-it-yourself idea centers in on embroidery hoops. There are literally endless ways to use them! Most of these pictures have links that you can follow. Simply click on them to go directly to the page, or right-click and open in new tab. Here are some lovely decorations that I found quite interesting:

I could not find the exact link for this project. . . But I found another hoop project on the site! Click on this picture to view.

This one was from tumblr, I think. . . No copyright infringement intended.

Have you completed a project similar to any of these? I’m definitely inspired to try a few of these out!

PS~ It might just be my computer, but a lot of times not all of the pictures I post show up full-sized. I just refresh the page, and that usually does the trick! 🙂
