6am- Get up, get ready
8:15- Leave for school
9:30- First class (ENG Comp I)
After hearing some lady tell her husband (over the phone) that NO, sweet tea is NOT water, and yes, you MUST drink a gallon as soon as possible, I was afraid he might be poisoned. I guess she wasn’t to concerned, so. When the ‘teacher’ walked to the front of the class, I was excited because she seemed great! Unfortunately, she was not my teacher. My teacher had a family emergency, so after filling out a survey and writing two paragraphs about how taking this class made me feel (it was emphasized in the paper, the word feel) I left, with over 3 hours until my only other class for the day.
-I’ve heard more profanity today than usual, considering I’m usually around my family and friends, who are conservative Christians.
-I’ve found the hallway outside of the cyber cafe is a perfect place to people watch. So is the cafeteria.
-I think the library would be better for studying, it smells of musty books and stale air. Kind of the way you’d expect it to, I guess.
-I’m beginning to overcome my discomfort of sitting near people, as funny as that sounds. Chairs are close together and if you want THAT seat, you’ve got to come to terms with sitting next to a stranger. Ha, ha. O.o
-I’ve observed that the ratio of ‘normal’ people to ‘odd’ people (I believe I fit int the latter category) is about 50:50. I think I’ll like some of the misfits better than the tan, highlighted blondes. (no offense to those who color their hair blonde)
-Apparently, a LOT of 18-19 year old guys can grow an official beard. I think the longest i’ve seen today is about 18 inches long, NO LIE. (Now that guy was at least 20, BUT STILL.)
-A lot of ‘real’ adults take classes, too. probably about 15-25% of my classes are made up of students older than 35.
To sum up- I had a good day. It’s not as intimidating as some make it out to be. I’m excited for the academics to really start up. God is good.

“I have not learned wisdom,
Nor have I the knowledge of the Holy One.
Who has ascended to heaven and come down?
Who has gathered the wind in his fists?
Who has wrapped up the waters in a garment?
Who has established all the ends of the earth?
What is his name, and what is his son’s name?
Surely you know!
Every word of God proves true;
He is a shield to those who take refuge in him.”
